Biography

Kevin C. Giordano was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1960. He was awarded a B.A. from St. Michael's College in Winooski, VT (1982) and a J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, LA (1985). In 1985, he was admitted to the practice of law in Massachusetts and since that time he has been a practicing attorney and trial lawyer. In 2013, Attorney Giordano completed training as a mediator through Pepperdine University's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. During the 28 years as a practicing attorney, Attorney Giordano has had experience in professional and general liability matters including professional negligence, health care law, personal injury, premises liability, fire loss, and products liability. He has also represented both employees and employers in employment related matters and has counselled small businesses on corporate and employment related matters. Attorney Giordano has been lead counsel in over 60 state and federal civil jury trials, and in addition to practicing in Massachusetts state and federal courts, he has practiced before Massachusetts administrative agencies including the Industrial Accident Board, Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, Massachusetts Board of Registration of Medicine, and the Board of Registration of Nursing. He has effective communication skills and has been engaged to lecture to health care providers at accredited continuing education seminars in Massachusetts and around the country. He has also lectured to attorneys and insurance companies on trial related matters, civil procedure and electronic discovery and has served as Moderator of a panel discussion on Electronic Discovery in Massachusetts. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Attorney Giordano was one of the organizers of the Wilbraham Hampden Academic Trust, Inc. and served as its President for over 5 years. He has also been a youth recreational athletic coach for over 15 years.

Mr. Giordano is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Hampden County Bar Association, and the Health Care Lawyers Association. Mr. Giordano supports local charitable and volunteer causes. He was an incorporator of a 501 (c)(3) charitable educational foundation that raises private funding in order to provide grants to the schools of a local regional school district for enrichment programs; he has been the President of the organization for over 10 years. In addition, he has consistently served as a volunteer coach within youth sports programs sponsored by his town's recreation department.

    Successfully defended pediatric critical care specialist involved in care and treatment of a critically ill 12 year old girl in hospital suffering from an unusual bleeding/clotting disorder following a meningococcal infection. Patient required amputation of both legs.

    Successfully defended case involving migration of a medical device (IVC filter) ultimately causing the death of the plaintiff. The medical device, designed to prevent blood clots from embolizing to heart and lungs, dislodged and became meshed in decedent's heart.
